The Body Mass Index (BMI) is one of many screening tools that can be used to assess an individual's total bodyweight.
BMI is calculated by comparing the measurements of your weight and height. Use the BMI calculator to determine if your bodyweight falls into an appropriate range in relation to your height. To find your results, look for the output value below:

Note: Although this screening tool is generally reliable, it must be understood that it has limits as well. The BMI value will overestimate bodyweight in athletes and others who have muscular builds, and it will underestimate bodyweight in older persons and others who have lost muscle mass.
For those individuals whose score indicated an overweight or obese condition, as little as a 10 percent weight loss can significantly enhance a healthier lifestyle. If your score falls within these ranges, consult your doctor to discuss a diet and exercise plan that is suitable for you.
